One of my many duties at the Patriot Ledger was covering community events, like Quincy's Fight Asian Hate Rally, where I interviewed attendees and speakers for a same-day turnaround.

I have a passion for representing underrepresented communities through my work, especially in sports, so I was excited to write about a college athletic's program that has excelled in providing a safe community for their LGBTQ+ athletes.

This story was one of many where I highlighted local businesses during the pandemic and interviewed the owners about the inception of their businesses and how they add to the community at large.

Another responsibility I had at the Patriot Ledger was covering high school sports through feature stories and game recaps. For this story, I interviewed three female football players at a local high school, looking at the future of women in football.

After the abrupt end to the spring semester due to COVID-19, I interviewed senior athletes about how they are handling the sudden end of their last seasons. I also interviewed sports psychologists, about how this is affecting athletes' mental health and what support they are providing for student athletes.

In this feature story, I followed a freshman and a senior hockey player during their first and last Beanpot. I interviewed the players before the series started to see how they were preparing, after their win against Harvard to see what they want to improve before the next game and after their Beanpot win against Boston University to see how it affected them as Boston natives.

As the men's basketball beat reporter I became comfortable with turning out articles quickly after games and paying great attention to details. In this game recap, head coach Bill Coen reached a momentous milestone with the Huskies's win.
